Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) was invited to the First Greater Bay Area Conference on Cancer Immunotherapy at Hengqin in Zhuhai, China on 30 June 2018.
Focused on the latest trends, advanced technologies and clinical treatments relating to cancer immunotherapy, the Conference aimed at promoting the development of research and technology in the field of cancer immunotherapy in the Greater Bay Area, and creating a platform for promoting academic exchanges and collaborations among scientists, experts, clinical practitioners who have been undertaking related research in different academic institutes and business enterprises in the Greater Bay Area. Prof. Chan was invited to attend the Conference as an officiating guest at the opening ceremony and as a facilitator in one of the presentation sessions.
Other invited speakers of the Conference included Director of Institute of Public Health, Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Science; Deputy Director of Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences, University of Macau; Assistant Director of Macau Institute for Applied Research in Medicine and Health, Macau University of Science and Technology; oncologists from the affiliated hospital and medical centers of several universities in China and a German expert in cancer immunotherapy. Through participation in such events, we hope to progressively extend our academic networks with different academic institutions and organizations in the Greater Bay Area, hence generating more collaborative opportunities for our School members.
