Biography

Dr. Qi DOU is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, and co-affiliated with T Stone Robotics Institute, at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interest lies in the interdisciplinary area of artificial intelligence and healthcare with expertise in medical image analysis and robot-assisted surgery, with the mission to advance disease diagnosis and intervention via machine intelligence. In this area, she has published over 70 papers in top-tier conferences and journals with 6 ESI highly cited articles. Dr. Dou has won the Best Paper Award of Medical Image Analysis-MICCAI in 2017, the Best Paper Award of Medical Imaging and Augmented Reality in 2016, the MICCAI Young Scientist Award Runner-up in 2016, the Hong Kong Institute of Science Young Scientist Award 2018, and the CUHK Engineering Faculty Outstanding Thesis Award 2018. Dr. Dou serves as the Programme Co-chair of MIDL 2021, Co-organizer of NeurIPS Workshop on Medical Imaging, Co-organizer of MICCAI Workshop on Operating Room 2.0, SPC of AAAI 2021 and IJCAI 2021. Before joining CUHK faculty, Dr. Dou was a postdoctoral research associate with BioMedIA Lab at the Department of Computing at Imperial College London. She received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science & Engineering at CUHK in 2018, and Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Beihang University in 2014.
