This course introduces design and analytical techniques to simplify and make sense of quantitative data nested within educational settings, such as classroom and schools. For example, students’ achievement scores are nested in classes, which are in turn nested in schools and/or neighborhoods. Non-experimental designs and the related analytical methods, such as multiple regression, multi-level regression, and value-added estimate, will be expounded to provide effective ways for students to analyze educational phenomena and organizational issues.
