I am Carissa Ma, a passionate English major pursuing her MA in English Literary Studies. I am a pescatarian, tea drinker, bookworm, indie music lover, and amateur poet. Although very much an introvert in terms of my sedentary habits, I am an extrovert when it comes to communicating with others. I like conversing with people from different backgrounds and cultures. If residents are interested in English literature, poetry, indie music/films or pesco-vegetarianism, they are most welcome to exchange ideas with me. Being not much of a sports person, I however enjoy walking long distances while listening to music or news podcasts. I believe in the essential role of the College in helping students flourish physically, academically, and emotionally. Having enjoyed and personally benefitted immensely from hostel life at CWC during my undergraduate years, I would like to contribute back to the College through my role as an RT. Given my warm personality, eagerness to serve, and strong principles, I will strive to create a harmonious and supportive environment that is conducive to the personal growth of CWC residents. Although still a young apprentice of life myself, I will try my best to be a good mentor to residents in need of advice. I will also help organize meaningful activities that can potentially bring positive change to the lives of participants, for example by fostering reading habits, encouraging mindfulness, boosting self-confidence, etc. Residents may approach me in person or by email.
