On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is with my greatest pleasure to announce that the 5th World Congress of Sports Trauma & 6th Asia-Pacific Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine Meeting 2008 will be held at the Postgraduate Education Centre, Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong SAR, April 11-13, 2008.
The joint event is hosted by Asia-Pacific Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (APOSSM), and co-organized by CUHK-WHO Collaborating Centre for Sports Medicine and Health Promotion, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association – Sports Medicine Chapter (HKOA-SMC), and Hong Kong Association of Sports Medicine and Sports Science (HKASMSS), with the support of various local and international sporting organizations.
This premier congress will be complemented with a series of meetings and courses, namely Magellan Society Meeting, Traveling Fellowship Program, 6th Academic Congress of the Asian Shoulder Association, International Symposium on Ligaments & Tendons – Hong Kong 2008, ACASA Shoulder Arthroscopy Course and 2008 FIMS-AFSM Team Physician Advanced Course on Olympic Equestriain Games.
The scientific program will encompass the most stimulating varieties of the state-of-the-art presentation on the latest technological advances and clinical management of sporting injuries and related sport medicine issues. This includes symposia, live-surgical demonstrations, free-paper in podium and e-poster formats.
An extensive exhibition and a series of industry courses will be held to introduce the new technology and application in all fields of sport medicine.
Awards will be given to best presentations in selected fields.
