Introduction
Following the traditions of the four preceding meetings of this series held at Nanjing (2007), Taipei (2008), Hong Kong (2009), and Shanghai (2010), the IWSSQC-5 aims to provide an opportunity for the international scientific community to discuss the recent experimental and theoretical developments in all aspects of solid-state implementations for quantum information processing and emerging topics related to quantum coherence in complex environments. The workshop will consist of invited talks, contributed oral talks, and posters. The working language is English. The topics include:
- Spin qubits in solid-state systems, such as quantum dots, donors in silicon, and defects in diamond;
- Superconducting qubits;
- Mechanical and hybrid systems;
- Decoherence of qubits and decoherence-resilient methods;
- Topological qubits;
- Simulation of solids by atoms and simulation of atoms by solids;
- Quantum coherence in biological systems and in photosynthesis.
