This course provides an overview of the basic principles and applications of various branches of modern optical physics. Topics covered include: geometrical optics, wave optics, polarization, Fourier optics, introduction to laser physics and nonlinear optics. Students are advised to take PHYS 3041 or its equivalent before taking this course.
