Several Laboratory experiments to illustrate the principles taught in the modern physics courses. Prerequisite: permission of the instructor.

    Course Outline

  • Exp 1 Determination of the line spacing and the resolving power of a transmission grating.
  • Exp 2 Determination of the Rydberg constant by study the Balmer series of hydrogen.
  • Lect Instrument control by LabVIEW
  • Exp 3 Verification of the Wien's radiation law and determination of hc/k by using an automated blackbody experiment.
  • Exp 4 Determination of h/e by using an automated photoelectric experiment.
  • Exp 5 Determination of the magnitude of unit charge e.
  • Exp 6 Measure the excitation energy of neon atom.
