PHYS1001 Essential Physics

This course covers the essential concepts of physics in mechanics, heat, electricity and magnetism, waves, optics, atom, and nucleus. It aims to bring out basic ideas and their relevance by using simple mathematics. Backgrounds of high school physics and calculus are not required. It is suitable for students in physical sciences, biological and medical sciences, and earth science that have not had systematic physics training in high schools. It is also for students in other majors who want to learn basic concepts of physics for their own interests and development.
