Aligning assessment with desired learning outcomes
Facilitator: Professor David Kember, Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research

Detail: Students are assessment-driven. This means that if assessment tests the knowledge and skills encapsulated in the desired learning outcomes they can be attained. However, if the assessment is not testing the attainment of the desired outcomes, students will be driven towards some other outcomes.

You are asked to bring along the items of assessment (tests, exams and assignments) for a course you teach. We will then examine these for consistency with desired learning outcomes. In cases where there appears to be a degree of inconsistency, alternative forms of assessment will be explored.

Date: 26 Apr 07, Thursday
Time: 12:30pm - 1:30pm
