Upon the invitation of the Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), led a delegation comprising Prof. Woody W.Y. Chan, Associate Director (Graduate Education), Prof. Michael S.C. Tam, Adjunct Professor and 10 postgraduate students of our School to join the Postgraduate Research Day organized by the KIZ's Key Laboratory of Animal Models and Human Disease Mechanisms (AMHD), CAS from 7 to 10 August 2013.
During the Postgraduate Research Day, the 10 students presented posters and 4 of them were invited to give oral presentations on their research to compete prizes with other students from the Key Laboratory of AMHD. With their exceptional performance, some of our students won prizes for their outstanding presentations and research work.
Indeed, our School has been in close connection with the KIZ through the KIZ/CUHK Joint Laboratory of Bioresources and Molecular Research in Common Diseases (see previous academic exchange activities conducted in July 2010, June and August 2012 and end November to early December 2012). As suggested during the visit, the Key Laboratory of AMHD under the KIZ would pay a reciprocal visit to us to join our annual SBS Postgraduate Research Day.
