Our School was invited to take part in the 2nd China-US Forum on Frontiers of Cancer Research: Cancer Prevention & Therapy (第二屆中美雙邊國際研討會: 癌症預防與治療) which was co-organized by the Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH), Chinese Academic of Science (CAS) and the University of Minnesota, U.S.A. between 15 and 17 August 2010 in Guangzhou, China.
Our School representatives included Prof. Wai-Yee Chan, Prof. Kenneth Lee, Prof. Gang Li, Prof. Kingston Mak, Prof. Chao Wan and Prof. Yin Xia. During the Forum, Prof. Chan, Prof. Lee, Prof. Li and Prof. Wan presented their scientific findings in relation to carcinogenesis, cancer therapy and prevention. Other major participants included researchers from the National Institutes of Health, U.S.A., members of the Nature Publishing Group, panel members of the national key project on “Development and Procreation”, Chief Scientists of the Nation’s 973 Project, and renowned scholars in the field of cancer research.
Involvement in this Forum not only allowed our investigators to share their research expertise in cancer-related fields with other participants but also enabled us to develop closer academic links with the participating institutes and universities in the U.S.A. and the Mainland China.
