Mr. Wang Ruijun, Director General of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology led a 4-member delegation, comprising representatives from Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Commission, to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 12 April 2018.
During the meeting with Prof. Fanny M.C. Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences and of Ministry of Education (MOE) Key Laboratory of Regenerative Medicine (CUHK- Jinan University) as well as representatives from various units and research institutes of CUHK, the delegates discussed with them how to promote innovation and technology development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area. They also toured the MOE Key Laboratory of Regenerative Medicine (CUHK- Jinan University), the State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China (Partner Laboratory in the CUHK) and the CUHK T Stone Robotics Institute, where they received further information on the latest development of respective laboratories and institute. Mr. Wang was impressed by the research facilities and achievements of the University and he encouraged CUHK to strengthen its collaboration with universities and research institutes in Guangdong so as to make joint contribution to the innovation and technology development of the region.
