On 1 December 2017, Prof. Bai Chunli, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) led a delegation of CAS and the CAS Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT) comprising Prof. Yang Jianhua and Prof. Fan Jianping, Party Secretary and President of SIAT, to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Apart from meetings with the Senior Management of CUHK, President Bai and the delegation also visited the three CUHK-CAS joint research laboratories housed at the School of Biomedical Sciences to learn their latest development and achievements. These joint laboratories include CUHK-Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH), CAS Joint Research Laboratory on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine; CUHK-Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM), CAS Joint Laboratory for Promoting Globalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and CAS Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ) – CUHK Joint Laboratory of Bio-resources and Molecular Research of Common Diseases.
Indeed, our School has been in close collaboration with CAS since the establishment of the above three joint research laboratories (see the previous activities HERE). President Bai's recent visit could help enhance further our mutual understanding and communication for achieving more collaboration and exchange in the future.
