Coordinated by the Office of Academic Links (China) (OALC), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), a delegation from the Ministry of Education (MOE), China visited the School of Biomedical Sciences as one of the stops during their stay at CUHK on 21 June 2017.
Comprised of Dr. Liu Jin, Director of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Office of the State MOE and Mr. Wang Zhiwei, the Deputy Director, the delegation firstly met with Prof. Dennis K.P. Ng, Associate Vice-President of CUHK, Prof. Kenneth K.H. Lee and Prof. Wan Chao, Associate Director and Assistant Director of the MOE Key Laboratory of Regenerative Medicine (CUHK – Jinan University) (Key Laboratory), and Mr. Raymond Y.C. Leung, Director of Student Affairs, CUHK and learnt the recent development of CUHK’s academic linkages in China. Both sides further discussed issues like student activities, joint research, and curriculum collaboration between CUHK and mainland partners. Before departure, the delegation visited the Key Laboratory located at the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building, which is currently one of the three MOE Key Laboratories set up in CUHK with the support of the State MOE.
Through this visit, it is hoped that the State MOE could have been enabled to have a deeper understanding of the efforts taken by the Key Laboratory in the promotion of collaborative research in regenerative medicine since the MOE’s official approval of operation in 2013.
