Biography
Dr. Wong Pui Man Molly (黃佩文) received the Cambridge Overseas Trust Scholarship and the Dorothy Hodgkin Postgradute Award (DHPA) and obtained her PhD at the University of Cambridge. Prior to her PhD study, she received her undergraduate training in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, and later completed her MPhil study in The University of Hong Kong. While conducting her research on microRNAs, hematopoiesis, lymphocyte development and function in Cambridge, and later in GlaxoSmithKline in Stevenage, Dr. Wong developed a strong interest in education in immunology and physiology. She has over 10 years of tertiary teaching experience in universities. She is experienced in teaching biochemistry, physiology, medical ethics and humanities in local universities, and previously received an Outstanding Teaching Award (“Good Teacher Award”) in 2012. She was a Lecturer and Honorary Assistant Professor in The University of Hong Kong before she joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Wong is currently a Lecturer in the School of Biomedical Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine in The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is dedicated to the teaching profession and has devoted time to teaching a wide range of courses in University General Education, Medical Faculty Package, Anatomy and Human Dissection, Physiology and Pathophysiology, Molecular Genetics and Medicine, Bioethics and Humanities in various programs including Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), Bachelor of Chinese Medicine, BSc. in Biomedical Sciences and BSc. in Biomedical Engineering.
Dr. Wong is also an academic mentor for students in both MBChB and Biomedical Sciences programs. She is a passionate teacher who shows dedication to her students by implementing her blended teaching strategies and e-learning into classroom teaching in order to facilitate and enhance student learning. Furthermore, she has numerous roles in her College. Dr. Wong is currently an elected and/or appointed member of the Admission Committee, College Student Life and Development Committee, and the Hostel and College Facilities Management Committee at Lee Woo Sing College. Dr. Wong is also a Warden of Lee Woo Sing College. She aims to enrich and provide students a fruitful College life, and facilitate students’ all-round personal development and academic achievements. She is keen on providing pastoral care for students and has actively participated in the College events and student activities. She is also the Vice President of the Executive Committee of Staff Club at Lee Woo Sing College.
Her research interests currently lie in anatomy, physiology and bioethics education, epigenetic remodeling, modulation of histone methylation in treatment of hematological disorders, and development of engaged pedagogical approaches for teaching and learning of anatomy, physiology and bioethics.
