To allow GLOBE students to gain direct insights into the Southeast Asian markets, a study trip to ASEAN member state was organized in early January. Led by Mr. John Lai, Associate Director of GBS, a group of 53 GLOBE students learned about the latest developments in Malaysia during a visit to Kuala Lumpur from January 8 to 12, 2013.
The students were invited to have dinner with Dato’ Kwok, a distinguished Malaysian entrepreneur and corn tycoon. From him, the students learnt about entrepreneurship and how to run a business. The visit to GE Aviation allowed the group to experience the manufacturing process of airplane engines. They also met with the COO of Fella Design. The trip enabled the students to assess knowledge gained from books from a different perspective.
