2012 Study Trip to Singapore

Towards the end of semester 2, GLOBE students of Batch 6 are very excited about the study trip to Singapore to learn about doing business in Asia. The trip was held between 13 and 19 May 2012, students were divided into two groups, visiting different companies, in order to get the most out of this small yet extremely prosperous city.

One of the highlights in the series of corporate visits would certainly be Changi Airport. GLOBE students had a tour inside the restricted area, which turns out to be the best way to experience Changi’s unbeatable quality of airport services. Also, students had a great time with the classic advertisements done by Ogilvy & Mather, while taking turns to hug the new Coca Cola vending machine, one of the signature works of the firm. Another interesting visit would be Dell Singapore. Students find the transformation history of Dell very compelling, not to mention the enthusiastic technicians in Dell, who are the true driving force of the entire company across decades.

Beyond scheduled visits, students have also spent time travelling around to have a taste of the diverse culture in Singapore. Beach of Sentosa, SkyPark of Marina Bay Sands and dinners in Clarke Quay have all left us with some lovely memories for this GLOBE study trip.
