6 March 2012

Being awarded first runner-up and Sow Asia Foundation Social Venture Award in the Vice Chancellor’s Cup of Entrepreneurship 2012, the team formed by five GBS students was then nominated by CUHK’s Centre for Entrepreneurship to represent Hong Kong at the Asia Venture Challenge 2012. The team was awarded Best Presentation and SET Challenge Round winner.

The Challenge (previously called Asia Moot Corp) was first organized by CUHK in 1998. In recent years, it was hosted by Thammasat Business School in Bangkok. Every year, 12 teams representing Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, India, Korea etc will attend a three-day competition in Bangkok. Teams are divided into three divisions to convince their panels of judges that their team has a viable and lucrative venture idea which, with sufficient start-up fund, will grow into a successful and sustainable business. The competition aims to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of students who are receiving business education from the region’s top business schools.

Members of the team include: Angela Li (Batch 5), Veronica Lau, Keith Poon of Batch 6, Zoe Ng and Michael Ng of Batch 7.
