10 February 2007
On 8 February 2007 GLOBE reached a new milestone - the 44 students from around the world (14 from UNC, 15 from CUHK and 15 from CBS) formed international teams and presented their projects on global industries, signifying the first official meeting of all the GLOBE students. The teams worked on the global environments and competitions in the airlines, apparel, package delivery, automobile, mobile phones, banking, retail and computer industries. The presentations were at very high standard and the students really enjoyed working together. Below is the picture of the Best Project Team. Each team member got an iPod!
In the evening GLOBE students had the inauguration dinner. Representatives from the three institutions delivered remarks on GLOBE at the dinner. Professor PW Liu, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, highlighted the importance of the US and European economies in the past, and the importance of the Chinese economy in the next twenty years. Therefore, students should equip themselves well with global business knowledge, and develop global visions. They were also joined by the First Secretary (Education) and the Economic & Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Denmark at the dinner.
