GEF is a community of learners. Our teachers too are learners in this community. They learn from interactions with students, and they learn from and with their colleagues.
Weekly meetings for each course are held throughout term time so teachers can prepare and debrief together, compare notes, exchange teaching strategies and align standards and expectations for students. Retreat is also organized at the end of each academic year to refresh reflections on the team’s education ideals, affirm achievements and brainstorm possible ways of continuous improvement. Programme and course assessment data are presented at these occasions to aid discussion.
Teaching GEF is both rewarding and challenging. Our teaching team consists of full time GEF teachers as well as teachers from different departments – all of them are drawn to the programme by their passion for core text, seminar style teaching.
