Officiated by Mr Thomas Liang, Chief Executive of the Wei Lun Foundation Limited, and Professor Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), the third “Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship Presentation Ceremony” was held on Wednesday, 26 October 2016. Members of the advisory committee for the Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship Endowment Fund attended the ceremony as well.

In his welcoming address, Professor Fok expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the Lee Family and the Wei Lun Foundation for establishing the “Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship Endowment Fund” in celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the University in 2013. He encouraged the scholarship recipients to reciprocate the support from the Lee family and the Wei Lun Foundation by striving to excel and contribute to the society.

On behalf of all scholarship recipients, Brian Cheng Shu-fan thanked the Lee Family and Wei Lun Foundation for their kindness and generosity, and for their efforts in carrying on the legacy of Dr the Honorable Lee Quo Wei to support education and the nurturing of future pillars of the society.

The Endowment Fund makes possible the establishment of various scholarships for outstanding Mainland students, students from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Medicine, as well as students who participated in exchange programmes. A total of 81 outstanding students have been awarded the “Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship” this year.
