15 Students Received ‘Sin Wai Kin CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarships in Arts, History and Philosophy’

The third Presentation Ceremony of ‘Sin Wai Kin CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarships in Arts, History and Philosophy’ was held on 20 July 2016 at the Chung Chi College Staff Club of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). 15 students from the Faculty of Arts with outstanding academic performance received this prestigious award.
Officiated at the Ceremony were Dr Sin Wai-kin, David, Chairman of Sin Wai Kin Foundation and Myer Jewelry Manufacturer Limited, Mrs Sin, Mr Sin Nga-yan, Benedict, Director and General Manager of Myer Jewelry Manufacturer Limited, Professor Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of CUHK, and Professor Leung Yuen-sang, Dean of Faculty of Arts of CUHK.
In his welcoming speech, Professor Fok Tai-fai expressed his sincere gratitude towards Dr Sin and his family for their long-standing support towards the University. He encouraged the scholarship recipients to learn from Dr Sin as a role model of integrity and benevolence. Mr Benedict Sin urged the scholarship recipients to continue to strive for excellence by breaking through obstacles, and dedicate themselves in serving the community in the future.
Mr Siu Sai-yau, a PhD student from the Department of Translation, delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of all recipients. In appreciation of the generosity of the Sin family, Professor Leung and the scholarship recipients presented souvenirs and thank you cards to Dr Sin and his family at the end of the ceremony.
The ‘Sin Wai Kin CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarships in Arts, History and Philosophy’ was established in 2013 in the midst of the 50th anniversary of the Chinese University, with the objective of awarding students who excel in Arts, History and Philosophy, and fostering academic research.
