Jointly organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and E & R Foundation, the “Music Picnic” Fundraising Concert was held on Saturday, 10 October 2015 at Shaw College Lecture Theatre of CUHK.  With the generous support from our sponsors, we are delighted to announce that close to HK$350,000 has been raised through this meaningful event. All donations will be used to support the I‧CARE Programme.

In his welcoming speech, Professor Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK, extended a warm welcome to close to 300 children and youngsters for their participation in the concert. Professor Sung encouraged them to learn from our students and devote themselves to serve the community in the future. He also expressed his gratitude to E & R Foundation and all the sponsors, as well as the guest performers, for their contribution in making the concert a great success.

Featured brilliant performances by outstanding young musicians and friends of CUHK, including alumni Ms Judy Ho (Harp), Mr Wesley Lam (Opera), and four students from the Department of Music Ms Joyce Lee (Violin), Mr Jacky Yung (Viola), Mr Perry Lau (Piano) and Mr Lance Mok (Piano), the Concert served as a valuable platform to widen the horizons of the participants through a magical music journey. The participants were given the opportunity to explore a wide variety of music from different times and places through the string, piano, harp, flute, opera and choir performances.

The  I‧CARE Programme aims to develop all-rounded students and encourage them to serve the community and the needy. If you would like to support the Programme, please visit this webpage: www.oia.cuhk.edu.hk/eng/campaigns/i-care-programme
