Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor

The Department of Mathematics in CUHK has developed a strong reputation in teaching and research. Many of the faculty members are internationally renowned and are recipients of prestigious awards and honours. The graduates are successful in both academia and industry. The Department is highly ranked internationally, e.g., it is 29th and 28th in the 2018 and 2019 QS World University Rankings, and 34th and 31st in the 2018 and 2019 US News Rankings, respectively.

The Department is now inviting applications for substantiable-track faculty posts at all academic levels from Assistant Professor to Professor in all areas of Mathematics. Applicants should have (i) relevant PhD degree; and (ii) good potential for research and teaching. Those with outstanding research accomplishments are encouraged to apply.

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing August 2021, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.

Research Assistant Professor / Postdoctoral Fellow

The Department is now inviting applications for non-substantiable posts at Research Assistant Professor / Postdoctoral Fellow levels in all areas of Mathematics beginning in August 2021. We seek promising young mathematicians whose research areas match the areas of our faculty members. The teaching load of these appointments is light, with one course each academic year. Applicants should have (i) a relevant PhD degree; and (ii) good potential for research and teaching.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years for Research Assistant Professor, or two years for Postdoctoral Fellow, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
