Notice on Change of Major

Students who are interested to apply for transfer to The Department of Japanese Studies in 2017-2018 are required to submit application in CUSIS and complete and return the attached application form to Ms. Helen Chan at the General Office located at Room 403 Leung Kau Kui Building on or before 12:00 noon on 28 June 2017, together with the following supporting documents:

1.      Copy of the transcript, including transcript of Term 2 of 2016-2017. (The Department’s minimum cumulative GPA requirement is 3.0 and applicants should have already completed at least 6 units of JASP courses and achieved the grade of B- or above).

2.      Copy of the TOEFL / IELTS ^(a) score

3.      Copy of the HKDSE result

Applicants are expected to attend an English written test and interview tentatively scheduled on 4 July 2017 ^(b).

(a) Department’s minimum requirement

TOEFL: Score 550（Paper-based Test）or 213（Computer-based Test）or 80 (iBT)

IELTS: 6.0

(b) Tentative Schedule as follows:

English Written Test: 4 July (Tuesday) 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at 4/F., KKB

Interview: 4 July (Tuesday) starting from 11:00 a.m. at 4/F., KKB (exact time to be confirmed)
