Notice on Change of Major

Students who are interested to apply for transfer to The Department of Japanese Studies in 2018-2019 are required to submit application in CUSIS and return the attached completed application form to Ms. Helen Chan at the General Office located at Room 403 Leung Kau Kui Building on or before 12:00 noon on 28 June 2018 (Thursday), together with the following supporting documents:

1. Copy of the transcript, including transcript of Term 2 of 2017-2018. (The Department’s minimum cumulative GPA requirement is 3.0 and applicants should have already completed (1) at least 6 units of JASP courses and achieved the grade of B- or above; (2) JASP1460 or equivalent as language requirement).
2. Copy of the TOEFL / IELTS ^(a) score
3. Copy of the HKDSE result
4. Copy of Japanese Language Proficiency Test result if available

Applicants are expected to attend an English written test and interview tentatively scheduled on 4 July 2018^(b).

(a) Department’s minimum requirement

TOEFL: Score 550（Paper-based Test）or 213（Computer-based Test）or 80 (iBT)

IELTS: 6.0

(b) Tentative Schedule as follows:

English Written Test: 4 July (Wednesday) 2:15 – 3:15 p.m. at 4/F., KKB

Interview: 4 July (Wednesday) starting from 3:45 p.m. at 4/F., KKB (exact time to be confirmed)
