Description
Applications are invited for postdoctoral fellowships in Japanese Studies. Applicants should (i) have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. degree by September 2017; (ii) have native or near-native fluency in English and Japanese; (iii) specialize in anthropology or sociology and be able to teach anthropology of Japan, popular culture; and (iv) have good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Duties include (i) conducting research projects and assisting in writing research grant proposals; (ii) teaching postgraduate and/or undergraduate courses; (iii) participating in activities organized both by the Department and the Research Centre for Comparative Japanese Studies; (iv) giving public talks; (v) working with master’s and doctoral students.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing September 2017, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
