(Restored) Microsoft Incident Report on Failure to Access Exchange Online via Multiple Connection Methods

Service Affected
Users may have been unable to send or receive email via any Exchange Online connection method.
More info: Before restarting the affected environment, users may have been unable to access their mailbox via Outlook, Outlook on the web, or other connection methods. Users may have seen the “Something went wrong” error page when trying to connect.
Additionally, users may have experienced impact with other services:
Users may have been unable to complete searches when using SharePoint Online.
Users may have been unable to view their calendar or complete searches in Microsoft Teams.
Some users may have experienced issues wherein they may have been unable to send or receive email via any Exchange Online service.
Cause
A recent update to a portion of directory infrastructure is unexpectedly causing impact.
Status
Service restored
Microsoft has identified and restarted the affected environments to remediate the impact. .
