Use Encryption to Protect Confidential Data

Risk If unencrypted data is leaked, it can be easily read by unauthorized person.
Possible solutions
  1. Use Microsoft Information Protection (AIP) to encrypt all MS Office or non-MS Office documents.
  2. Use WinZip to encrypt data (WinZip can be download here).
  3. Use Password Protection on MS Office Documents.
  4. Use Password Protection on PDF Documents.
How-to
  1. Use WinZip to encrypt data:
    1. Encrypt
      1. open winzip
      2. Drag the file into the windows
      3. Add a file name, check the box ‘ encrypt added files’ , click ‘add’
      4. A warning to remind you about the pros and cons of encryption.
      5. Add a password to that, better choose 256-bit AES encryption method
      6. Repeat steps 2-5 to add more files
      7. Please note that for password-protected zip file, winzip will show a star at the end of the file name.
    2. Decrypt
      1. Open the zip file, double click the file, enter password.
      2. Save the file.
