Biography
Prof. Sumi Jung is an Assistant Professor in School of Accountancy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on the different incentives for firms’ discretionary accounting choices. She is particularly interested in how political processes, regulations, and labour unions influence firms’ reporting and disclosure choices.
Prof. Jung received a PhD in business administration from the University of Minnesota and earned a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Prior to pursuing a PhD, she worked as a financial risk analyst at Shinhan Investment Company in Seoul. She joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2015.
