Welcome to the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

Our Department is strongly committed to excellence in teacher education and sports science research. Our goal is to provide the best academic training programmes in the region. This goal is achieved by providing diverse learning experiences under the supervision of dedicated and experienced educators who are deeply committed to teaching. Our Department has earned a reputation for being the place where students with tremendous talent can experience the state-of-the-art education in the area of Sports Science and Physical Education. Our academic colleagues work with students in local, national and international teaching, research, and service projects, providing students with hands-on experiences that prepare them for exciting and rewarding careers in education and sports-related fields.

The Department offers the following two highly regarded programmes for our undergraduate students:

• A 5-year B.Ed. Programme in P.E., Exercise Science and Health (JS4329) is an option for students who are interested in pursuing qualified teacher status in Hong Kong.
  
  
• The 2-year B.Sc. Programme in Exercise Science and Health Education is designed for students who have successfully completed an associate degree or a higher diploma in sports-related discipline.

Our postgraduate students pursue M.Phil. or Ph.D. research in any area of specialisation represented by the faculty. Moreover, a number of full-time or part-time taught postgraduate programmes are offered to students with diverse academic backgrounds who are interested in gaining a qualification in Sports and Exercise Science from our Department. The Department is very proud of its graduates. Undergraduate and postgraduate alumni from our Department have excelled in a variety of professions, occupying leadership positions in school, government, and academia.
