Professor Helen Meng Received HKWPEA Outstanding Women Professionals and Entrepreneurs Award 2017

Professor Helen Meng, Chairman of the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, received 2017 Outstanding Women Professionals and Entrepreneurs Award (OWA) by the Hong Kong Women Professionals & Entrepreneurs Association (HKWPEA) in recognition of her professional accomplishment and service to the society. HKWPEA first organized the Outstanding Women Professor and Entrepreneurs Award in 1999 and it is a tri-annual event. The Award honors and celebrates the achievements of women in Hong Kong. It recognizes women who have made significant contributions to their professionals, Hong Kong’s business environment, and society. They are women of integrity and high moral standards, providing outstanding role models to business leaders, peer and youth alike.

Professor Helen Meng has been elected Fellow of the International Speech Communication Association in 2016, “for contributions to multilingual, multimodal human-computer interaction and language-learning technologies.”

Professor Helen Meng has been elected Fellow of the International Speech Communication Association in 2016, “for contributions to multilingual, multimodal human-computer interaction and language-learning technologies.” In 2007, ISCA began its Fellows Program to recognize and honor outstanding members who have made significant contributions to the science and technology of speech communication. ICME has been the flagship multimedia conference sponsored by four IEEE societies since 2000. It serves as a forum to promote the exchange of the latest advances in multimedia technologies, systems, and applications from both the research and development perspectives of the circuits and systems, communications, computer, and signal processing communities.
