本計劃將以沙頭角墟為社區研究的範圍，香港中文大學的 20 名學生義工將在 2015 年 10 月至 2016 年 3 月為期半年中展開社區探索活動，一方面學生將以小組形式探訪居住在沙頭角禁區內的獨居長者，關懷長者的生活，並聆聽長者講述社區裡過去的故事；另一方面，學生將以小組形式分工負責探究沙頭角墟的不同方面，自己在社區中尋求多元化的資料來源管道，在整個過程中瞭解沙頭角墟在過去數十年來作為獨特的中港邊境地區經歷了怎樣的歷史變遷，同時在此過程中形成了怎樣的經濟和文化景觀，並反映出怎樣的與村民生活的緊密聯繫。
活動目標：
通過為期半年的探訪，關懷沙頭角墟長者的生活狀況，為長者送去溫暖。
通過口述歷史及社區考察的研究方式，瞭解並記錄下沙頭角墟地區的歷史文化及社區變遷。
探訪以小組為單位進行，培養參與學生的團隊合作精神及領導能力。
提升參與學生社會服務意識，在探訪及社區考察的實踐中強化公⺠責任感。

The project focuses on the Sha Tau Kok community where twenty CUHK students will conduct regular home visits as well as community exploration from October 2015 to March 2016. In the project, students will visit elderly people living in Sha Tau Kok regularly to care their daily life with warmth and at the same time listen to the stories of the community talked by the elders. In addition, students will be divided into groups to get knowledge of the community including the history, culture, economy and citizen life.
Project Objectives:
Understand and care the life condition of the elderly people through regular home visits during the six months;
Understand and record the history and culture information of the remote communities based upon oral history research methodology;
Develop teamwork spirit and leadership capability of the students through the group work
Enhance the social service awareness of the students and strengthen their sense of civic engagement in home visit practice.
