Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK/ Chinese Proficiency Test/ 漢語水平考試/ 汉语水平考试) is the most popular test of standard Chinese language proficiency for non-native speakers. Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) authorized CLC as one of the test centres in Hong Kong. The 2020 test dates are April 11, August 23 and December 6 respectively. The venues of the test are located at CUHK Shatin lower campus near to the University Station. On the other hand, HSK related courses are held from time to time in the Centre.
Special Notice
As COVID-19 has become a pandemic lately and its global influence will remain for a while, in order to protect examinees from infecting with COVID-19, we decided to postpone the Dec 2020/Jan 2021 test (6 Dec 2020 & 9 Jan 2021) to Apr 2021. The next test in Hong Kong on CUHK campus will be held on (Saturday) 10 April 2021. Examinees will be individually notified.

1. Q：When will HSK Exam be held and how to apply?
A：CLC arranges HSK exam three times a year (April, August and December). You can search for other test centre/time from Hanban website. Currently, CLC only accepts online registration. Register online and a payment memo will be sent by email.
2. Q：What is the cost and payment method of HSK?
A： Payment can made by cash, cheque or credit card. You can download the credit card payment form here. The exam fee is standardized among all the test centres in HK but may be different between countries.

4. Q：Can I register the exam more than one level ?
A： Normally, HSK level 2/4/6 are held in the morning (from 9am). HSK level 1/3/5 are held in the afternoon (from 1:30pm), and HSK speaking (all levels) held at 4:30pm. Student can register a maximum of two consecutive levels from HSK level 1 to 6. However, students can only register one level in speaking, because it starts at the same time for all levels.
5. Q：Do you offer the exam in traditional Chinese? Can I answer in traditional Chinese in the writing part?
A：Hanban offers the simplified Chinese version only . Regardless of the exam version, student can answer in traditional or simplified Chinese in the writing part.
6. Q：I am a mainland Chinese/HK local. Can I register for the HSK exam?
A：HSK is targeted to students learning Chinese as a foreign/ second language regardless of the nationalities. For those whose mother tongue/ first language is Chinese (usually heritage is Chinese, born and raised up in China or Hong Kong), schools and employers may have a higher expectation on your Chinese level. In that case, instead of HSK, the Putongtua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) is more appropriate. 7. Q：When will the result is available and how to collect the score report?
A：The result will be available online one month after the exam date. Students can log in to their personal account at (http://www.chinesetest.cn) . Official score report will be sent to our centre by Hanban two months after the exam date. Collection can be made in person/by proxy at the CLC general office. An announcement will be sent by email. For the registered mail postal service of the score report, a service fee at HK$30 for local mail and HK$50 for oversea mail will be charged. Payment is to be settled together with the examination fee. Students taking this option please fill in the mailing label in the payment form before the deadline of payment.
