About CASPY

CASPY is a platform for Chinese adoptees to connect with one another and learn about their Chinese heritage. We believe that early, positive exposure to Chinese culture can be extremely formative for identity and present families with a relaxed, community setting to explore the many facets surrounding transracial adoption.

CASA Lantern Making

February 26, 2021 at 4:00 pm EST

Join Yale Chinese American Student Association (CASA) to learn how to make your own lanterns for Lantern festival. The Lantern Festival, also called Yuan Xiao Festival, is a popular holiday celebrated in China and other Asian countries to honor past ancestors, wish for good fortune, and start afresh. This holiday represents reconciliation, peace, and forgiveness. As a sign of their genuineness, many people will devote hours to crafting their own ornate red lanterns. CASA will teach you how to craft your own out of red envelopes. A number of kits are available for the first signups. Please limit one kit per household. Kits will need to be picked up on February 22 or 25 from the Yale campus. Registrants that are able to pick up a kit will be contacted separately to select a pickup time.
