As a graduate of Colorado College, I was double major in Anthropology and Mathematics. My research interests are labor studies, political anthropology, spatial anthropology, and science and technology studies.

Driven by curiosity in “hidden transcripts” of youth in Brazil, I conducted the fieldwork in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to investigate how citizenship of pixadores (graffiti writers) was formed and consolidated through their reconstruction of public space; Questioned about technopolitics, I participated in a multi-sited ethnographic research project to investigate the “incurable” citrus huanglongbing, a wide-spreading agricultural disease in Guangdong, and tried to debunk the “magical” front of agricultural technology; Interested in the reform of state-owned enterprises, I carried out a fieldwork in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, to investigate how collective memory and nostalgia of laid-off state-owned enterprise workers shaped their interpretations of capitalism and their post-socialism adaptation.

Outside the field, I’m passionate about participatory development and social innovation and have interned at cross-cultural social enterprises, grassroots non-profit organizations, foundations, and corporate social responsibility consulting groups, to better understand of the industry of international development.
