The programme specifically aims to provide advanced academic and practical instructions on music and its broader cultural contexts to equip students with the critical skills and acumen they need in order to thrive in their future endeavors. It is designed not only for individuals who currently work in the music field but also music lovers with strong musical backgrounds from other professions.
Outstanding local students (2021/22) will be awarded close to two-thirds of tuition remission under the UGC's Targeted Taught Postgraduate Fellowships Scheme.
- Applicants should have:
- Graduated from a recognized university and obtained a Bachelor's degree, normally with honours not lower than Second Class; or
- Graduated from an honours programme of a recognized university with a Bachelor's degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than "B" in undergraduate courses; or
- Completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honours degree.

In addition to supporting documents as stipulated by the Graduate School, applicants should submit a Personal Statement of 300-500 words (in English) to the Graduate Division of Music by the specified deadline.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
