Staff and students of the Fine Arts Department actively engage in the study of art. Through incorporating academic research into studio art practice, our artist-professors ceaselessly explore traditional and new artistic concepts and media, and contribute to the development of local and international art scenes through collaboration with artists and art institutes in different parts of the world. Our art historian-professors also enrich the fields of ancient and modern/contemporary Chinese art history by conducting high-quality cutting-edge research with new approaches. This is our conviction that good academic environment is essential to the cultivation of outstanding students, and our excellent research will continue to advance the study of art and art history in Hong Kong.
