SO Man Yee Stella

Part-time Lecturer

Stella So graduated from the School of Design of Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. Her graduation piece, the animation  《Very Fantastic好鬼棧》, reflects the culture and collective memory of Hong Kong’s historical districts and was an award winner within the independent short films/animation category of the 8th ifva Awards in 2002. Stella has worked in different areas, including producing the animated video for Anthony Wong Yiu-Ming’s黃耀明 《下落不明》 (2003), and writing a column about Hong Kong stories for 《Milk Magazine》 from 2004 to 2006. She also participated in the artistic creation, animation production, movie promotion, and animation preview exhibition of 《I-City》(2005), worked on the creation of 《Old Girl Fighter老少女戰士》 and 《Old Girl Home》(2006), published 《Very Fantastic好鬼棧—不可思義的戰前唐樓》 (2007) and adwarded book《City of Powder – Disappearing Hong Kong”粉末都市—消失中的香港》 (2008), and illustrated Eason Chan Yik-Shun’s(陳奕迅) CD 《不想放手》(2008).Stella published 《Old Girl Basement老少女基地》 (2009), collaborated with 7-11 for TV AD and print Ad 《7-11, So Good系列》(2011), and collaborated with MTR for wall painting in Hong Kong University station (C2出口and Escalators),  website and ticket design ( 2014). Stella had published an adwarded book《如果世界是一百人學校》 and 《盂蘭的故事》and 《老少女之我是村姑》 and drew an illustration for tram during 2016, and draw the old HK backdrop for Hong Kong historical museum in 2017, Stella has participated illustration work in adwarded book《香港非違便覽與實踐》,and has exhibition about Hong Kong intangible Heritage(香港非物質文化遺產) in Hong Kong International Airport (July-sept 2018), and recently had a lantern exhibition about Hong Kong intangible Heritage in Hong Kong Cultural Hall during Lantern festival in Feb 2019.
