The Department has always maintained a close link with both fine arts and academic circles. Numerous outstanding scholars and artists have been invited to give lectures and hold workshops on art history and studio practice.  Recent visiting scholars have included well-known art historians, such as Professor Peter STURMAN, Professor Wen C. FONG, Professor James C.Y. WATT, Professor Alfreda MURCK, Professor John CLARK, Professor LI Ling and Professor Dorothy C. WONG, as well as artists, such as Professor LIU Kuo Sung, Professor MA Qi Kuan, Professor JIANG Cai Ping, and Mr. Michael LEE Hong Hwee. Visiting Professors of the Institute of Chinese Studies, including Professor Lothar von FALKENHAUSEN and Professor Martin Joseph POWERS, have also offered courses at the Department.
