Diploma Programme in Foundation Studies
The primary objectives of this programme are to:
i) | provide students with a solid foundation in language and communication skills, as well as learning other generic skills for further studies; |
ii) | enable students to cultivate maturity through acquiring interpersonal communication and self-management skills at the pre-college level; and |
iii) | widen students’ academic horizons by introducing them to a spectrum of disciplines. |
To nurture whole person traits and provide fruitful learning experience for the students, the School organises various student development projects and extra-curricular activities. In particular, DFS holds regular Assemblies with a series of timely general education topics. The Student Counselling and Development Services (SCDS) Section offers a range of student development activities, e.g. the Student Ambassador Scheme, Career Planning Workshop and other support services for students. DFS students can join various activities held by the student societies and interest clubs of the School to explore their own interests and enrich campus life. They can also make use of the learning resources and join the activities organised by the Language Learning Enhancement Centre (LLEC) to improve their language proficiency.
