Alumni can apply for an Alumni Library Card for entering all branch libraries under The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library during opening hours.

Digital Library Service
Alumni who are holders of Alumni Library Card can apply for the Digital Library Service for Alumni to gain online access to a number of databases, including over 7,000 academic journals and magazines in the related fields.

Fees

  • Annual subscription fee: $400 (Subscribe before 30 June 2020 to enjoy a discount fee at $300)
  • Holders of CU Alumni Credit Card can enjoy a 20% discount

University Swimming Pool
Alumni holding CU Alumni Credit Card / Alumni Swimming Card OR accompanied by CU staff, student or alumni holding CU Alumni Credit Card can use the University swimming pool during opening hours. Opening hours and admission fees can be found here.

University Staff Common Room (SCR) Clubhouse

The Staff Common Room Clubhouse was closed with effect from 1 February 2019.


Parking
Alumni who are holders of CU Alumni Credit Card can enjoy up to 4 hours of free parking when using the University Libraries, the University Swimming Pool and other University Sports Facilities#.

# Alumni who have booked the aforementioned sports facilities can present their booking form and Alumni Credit Card to the venue attendant and ask the attendant for a QR code parking coupon in order to enjoy 4 hours of free parking. Please note that only 1 parking coupon will be issued for each session / hour booked.

Use of Library Terminals for Free Parking Redemption 
The "Automated Vehicle Access Control System" has been installed at different University gates. To access the campus, alumni have to present their Octopus card at the Octopus card reader located in front of the tollbooth and drive through the "visitor" lane.

To simplify the redemption process of the Alumni Credit Card's parking benefit, the cardholders shall present their Alumni Credit Card at the library terminals for verification of their parking benefit after using the library facilities, with effect from 4 January 2018. A valid Alumni Library Card, either a Borrower's or Reader's Card, shall be used for accessing the libraries.

Once the entitlement for parking benefit has been duly verified as shown on the terminal screen, cardholders could use their entry Octopus card to redeem the 4-hour free parking. Upon departure, cardholders should use the same Octopus card to enjoy the redeemed parking benefit and pay for remaining parking fee (if any).

Campus Wi-Fi Service
Alumni can enjoy "CUguest Wi-Fi Service" in areas including libraries, student canteens and major classrooms on campus.

School of Continuing and Professional Studies Cash Unit Scheme (CATS)
Alumni who enrol in courses offered by the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, CUHK, will gain cash units rebate at a privileged rate under the Cash Unit Scheme (CATS). They may use the accumulated cash units to partially pay their course fees for future SCS enrolments.

Alumni Free Email Forwarding Address
Alumni can also enjoy a free lifetime email forwarding address name@alumni.cuhk.net, a status symbol exclusive to CU graduates. You can select a designated name as the alias to "@alumni.cuhk.net" at MyCUHK. This unique email address will forward all emails to your designated email account. No more hassle of having to notify change of email address.
