The China-UK Humanities Alliance for Higher Education was initiated by Tsinghua University in 2016 with the aim to increase and consolidate academic exchanges between Chinese and British universities via cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration in the field of humanities. Founding members joining the Alliance comprise 5 Chinese universities (including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Wuhan University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong) and 7 British universities (including University of Oxford, The Needham Research Institute of University of Cambridge, School of Oriental and African Students of University of London, King’s College London, University of Reading, The University of Manchester and The University of Warwick). The Alliance will serve as a platform for cross-cultural and cross-ethnic dialogue and cooperation in the field of humanities and to deepen exchanges between the universities in China and UK. Activities under the Alliance will comprise student programmes ranging from language, culture to sports activities, and academic exchange including joint forum, workshop and research projects.
