Working toward a PhD in Laws, expected 2022

MA Sai is a PhD candidate at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Faculty of Law. Prior to her study at CUHK, She worked as a case manager at the Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Center (BAC/BIAC). Sai also acquired experience in international arbitration and energy related disputes at the Arbitration Institute of Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC). She is the ambassador of the Stockholm Treaty Lab initiated by the SCC and a mentee of the Young ICCA Mentoring Programme 2018-2019.

THESIS TOPIC

The Role of Investor-state Dispute Settlement in the Clean Energy Transition, co-supervised by Professors Anatole BOUTE and Yuhong ZHAO.

RESEARCH INTERESTS AND AIMS

Sai’s research interests include international arbitration, energy dispute resolution, and environmental policy. She was involved in research projects related to water policy and water governance launched by the Institute of Water Policy (IWP) under the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
