Dr. Bryan Druzin is Associate Professor of law at the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he teaches analytical jurisprudence and legal philosophy. He has held teaching positions at King’s College London and Brunel University London. He holds a B.A., LL.B., and LL.M. from the University of British Columbia and a PhD in law from King’s College London. He is former Director of the Faculty’s LLM Programmes.
Dr. Druzin is an internationally recognized legal theorist. His work examines the bottom-up emergence of governance as it relates to law and globalization. He has published widely with leading U.S. law schools (Harvard, Cornell, Columbia, Duke, Georgetown, UPenn, etc.), top international peer-reviewed journals, and has contributed to several edited volumes published by Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press. Dr. Druzin’s scholarship addresses issue areas such as the self-ordering potential of private law, treaty and institutional stability, and the self-ordering nature of social norms, rights, and markets. His scholarship draws on game theory, behavioral economics, and international relations theory. His current research asks whether it is possible to strengthen global governance by harnessing the mechanics of self-organization.
Dr. Druzin is a sought-after speaker at forums around the world, and is frequently interviewed by international media on issues related to his scholarship. He is the 2015 recipient of the CU Research Excellence Award, which has provided extensive financial support for his current research.
