THESIS TOPIC

Green Bonds: Can Debt Securities Help Implement International Law on Climate Change?, co-supervised by Professors Benoit MAYER and Chao XI.

RESEARCH INTERESTS AND AIMS

Mr. Lunven is interested in the relation between financial regulation and environmental law. With his thesis, he aims at answering the main legal questions arising from attributing climate goals to financial instruments. Key to this inquiry are “sustainable finance taxonomies”. In the context of sustainable finance, taxonomies are regulatory tools that classify economic activities according to their environmental impacts. Mr. Lunven studies how these taxonomies translate climate law into financial regulation.
