I. Pass/Fail Grading Option
The University has decided that Pass/Fail grading option will not be offered for postgraduate courses in 2020-21, Term 2 (including TPg Programmes adopting 3-term pattern, and Term 3 of TPg Programmes adopting 4-term pattern).
II. Late Drop of Courses
Students may apply for late drop of courses if needed according to the prevailing policy and approval procedure.
Applications for late drop of courses will continue to be handled on a case-by-case basis Request for late drop of course(s) endorsed by the Graduate Division should be submitted to the Dean of the Graduate School for approval before the end of the term concerned.
Students are reminded that dropping a course may affect your academic progression, for instance, if you are dropping a required course in your study programme, you may have difficulty registering in future courses that deem the current course a prerequisite. Dropping courses may also delay the completion of your programme. Students should think very carefully and consult their Supervisors/Programme Directors/Graduate Divisions before deciding to drop a course.
Under no circumstances will students be allowed to drop all courses registered in the current term of the academic year. Students who do not wish to register any courses in a term should provide full justifications and apply for suspension of studies for consideration by the Graduate Division.
Postgraduate students who consider late dropping of undergraduate course(s) may refer to the Registration and Examinations Section website at http://www.res.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/undergraduate-students/announcements-notices-mass-mailing/1870-one-off-arrangement-for-pass-fail-grading-for-phed-courses-only-and-late-drop-options-for-courses-offered-in-2nd-term-2020-21 for details.
