个人简介
钟教授于2011年加入香港中文大学公共卫生及基层医疗学院, 他利用生物医学伦理和公平的视角进行研究,专注于对健康不平等的社会决定因素(包括贫困和健康、移民的健康、罕见病患者的健康)以及与老龄化有关的多病症和长期/临终关怀问题进行实证调查,并利用这些证据为国内外的卫生服务和政策提供证据和信息。
钟教授是香港中文大学健康公平研究所的创办副主任,该研究所于2020年1月成立,由Michael Marmot教授、杨永强教授和胡令芳教授共同担任主管。同时,他也是卫生系统和政策研究中心及移民和流动研究中心的创始成员、卫生系统和政策研究中心及生活质量中心的执行委员以及老年学研究中心的助理教授(礼聘)。
在国际上,钟教授是世界大学网络(WUN)公共卫生全球挑战指导小组副主席,为全球23所国际研究型大学在公共卫生方面的研究和合作指引方向。2018年9月,钟博士被美国著名的美国国家医学院(NAM)选为其国际卫生政策研究员,在影响健康长寿的社会决定因素这方面进行研究。此外,他还曾在香港政府多个官方咨询委员会任职,涉及食物及卫生局的香港医疗卫生总开支账目和主题性住户统计调查。他亦参与了两个政府委托的,分别是关于老年人/临终关怀和医疗资源分配工作的项目。另外,他还是一项医院管理局医疗援助计划的顾问研究的首席研究员,同时也是香港罕有疾病的委任研究员。钟教授的研究还曾被中大通讯(11月第507期)用作封面故事。钟教授亦曾发表多篇文章,其中包括70多篇高影响力期刊的学术文章、书籍章节及顾问报告
此外,钟教授还积极参与大学、学院、系所、校级服务以及具有相当影响力的对外社会服务--他是香港生死学协会的副主席,该协会是一家整合了众多年轻专业人员的专业知识及理念,致力于创新香港的生命及死亡教育、预先护理规划、长期护理和善后安排的社会企业;他亦还是香港唯一的"生命及死亡教育 "电台节目的联合主持人。在学术领域外,他还是一位屡获殊荣的著名录音师/制作人。
钟教授于2005年取得美国约翰霍普金斯大学公共卫生学士学位及约翰霍普金斯彭博公共卫生学院卫生科学硕士学位,并于2011年取得香港大学公共卫生学院哲学博士学位,其博士研究课题为社会经济发展对人口健康的影响,此研究还获得了香港社区医学学院颁发的Presidential Award for Best Oral Presentation。
