CUHK Vice-Chancellor’s Ph.D. Scholarship Scheme

CUHK launches a new “CUHK Vice-Chancellor’s Ph.D. Scholarship Scheme” to support outstanding students to study a Ph.D. at CUHK, after they have had to give up opportunities to study abroad because of the current pandemic and travel restrictions in various countries. The new scheme will be introduced in academic year 2020-2021. In addition to the studentships of HK$216,300 per annum within the normative study period, selected students will also receive an award of HK$80,000 to realise their study goals.

Interested students who are planning to pursue a full-time Ph.D. at CUHK in the academic year 2020-2021 and fulfil the following criteria are eligible to apply:

• Applicants should have an excellent academic performance and have obtained a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 or equivalent.
• They were being offered a full-time Ph.D. place in a top overseas university for the academic year 2020-2021, but are needing to change their study plans due to the recent pandemic and travel restrictions.
